At TrackABus we are passionate about bus tracking.

We have developed a very cost competitive product which provides automated tracking of buses in cities. We are initially prototyping and refining this service in some of the smaller cities in New Zealand. We are a New Zealand locally owned and operated company.

The TrackABus service uses Global Positioning System (GPS) hardware and wireless communications technology to track the real-time location of buses. This lets riders use their computer, cell phone, smartphone or other connected device to get information about when the next bus will arrive at their stop, even if they are still at home, the office, shopping, or dining.

We have been working with and on integrating live-tracking on buses for some time. After developing a starting solution for the major fundamental software and hardware challenges we faced, we have since rapidly expanded TrackABus. During this last year we were in a position to start rolling out our solution to clients on a wider scale, and we have worked with Ritchies in Dunedin and Connectabus in Queenstown to streamline and improve the service and have adapted their feedback into the TrackABus service. We now have experience installing our locator units on a range of buses. Recently, we consulted with the Greater Wellington Regional Council (GWRC) and delivered a solution tailored to their specific requirements for the Wairarapa region.

We use automated monitoring and periodic service reviews to ensure that the tracking is accurate. Our support staff are in frequent contact with our clients, and provide any ongoing support as they need it.
